Katrīna Neiburga

Katrīna Neiburga (b. 1978) is a leading Latvian contemporary artist based in Riga. Working primarily in video installation and scenography, her practice explores socio-anthropological themes, unearthing hidden micro-worlds and personal iconography. She represented Latvia at the 56th Venice Biennale with the installation Armpit (2015) and is a recipient of the prestigious Purvītis Prize. Neiburga’s work is defined by a yearning for emotional authenticity and the preservation of living memory, transforming unnoticed everyday phenomena into poetic, visual narratives.
