José Esteban Muñoz

(1967–2013) American scholar in the fields of performance studies, queer theory and politics, aesthetics and critical theory. He was a Professor in the Department of Performance Studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Author of books Disidentifications. Queers of Color and the Performance of Politics (1999) and Cruising Utopia. The Then and There of Queer Futurity (2009), as well as the co-editor of Pop Out: Queer Warhol (1996).
