Margot Sputo

Franco-Polish visual artist. She is the author of various works, installations and photographic projects. She lives and works in Paris and Kraków.
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Contemporary Art and Photography at the University of Paris 8 [2010-2014] as well as the Faculty of Visual History at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences [EHESS] in Paris [2007-2010]. She has worked as a researcher at the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme in Paris at the Scientific Audiovisual Archive. She has participated in numerous research and development projects concerned with the semiotics of new media as well as artistic projects. In 2015, she completed an artist residency in Oaxaca in southern Mexico. In her work, she explores the boundaries of representability, different ways of perception and the affectivity of photography. Her work has been exhibited at many international exhibitions and festivals, in such cultural institutions as Galerie Mains d’Oeuvres and Galerie Mansart in Paris, at the Duo/Duel festivals in Saint-Denis, Nuit Blanche 2015 in Paris as well as in the University of Paris 8 Gallery and the Museum of the City of Mexico (Museo de la Ciudad de México).
