Michał Kmiecik
playwright, director, author of theatrical adaptations. He made his debut in 2012 with the production "Kto zabił Alonę Iwanowną?" at the Dramatyczny Theatre in Warsaw. He has directed, among others, Franz Kafka's "Przemiana" at the Współczesny Theatre in Wrocław and his original production "Humans are Dead, We're the Humans Now" at Komuna//Warszawa. As co-author and performer, he appeared in Grzegorz Laszuk's productions "Jak zmusić ludzi do szczęścia?" and "Jak przegrać wybory?". He regularly collaborates with Marcin Liber, with whom he has created productions based on original plays, including "Paprykarz szczeciński" and "Król Potworów" at the Współczesny Theatre in Szczecin, "Prawdziwy Norweski Black Metal" at the Collegium Nobilium Theatre, and "Być jak Steve Jobs" at the Narodowy Stary Theatre in Kraków, as well as prose adaptations, including Natalka Suszczyńska's "Dropie" at the Horzyca Theatre in Toruń (Grand Prix of the 30th edition of OKnWPSW), Jacek Dehnel's "Ale z naszymi umarłymi" at the Żeromski Theatre in Kielce (individual distinction for adaptation at the 29th edition of OKnWPSW), and Kurt Vonnegut's "Rzeźnię nr 5" at the Contemporary Theatre in Wrocław. Winner of the 5th edition of Aurora. Bydgoszcz City Dramaturgy Award for the play "Paprykarz szczeciński", Main Prize and Audience Award for the play "Śmierć pracownika" at the 4th edition of the Metafory Rzeczywistości competition, as well as the Honorary Maciej Prus Award for Best Director at the 65th Kalisz Theatre Meetings for directing "Przemianę". Member of the Guild of Polish Theatre Directors and the ZAiKS Authors' Association.
