Anna Siekierska

Faculty of Sculpture, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw

Sculptor, cyclist, member of the Interspecies Community. She is an artist and activist engaged in efforts on behalf of nature. She speaks out for beings discriminated against and exploited by humans. She runs workshops that sensitize people to the lives of other beings, creates installations in public spaces, and develops engaged projects, including: Fikus (Ficus), a neighborhood installation in the courtyard of a tenement house in Warsaw, 2017; Kto tam? (Who's There?), a platform for observing life in treetops, Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art (CSW) in Warsaw, 2018; Sanatorium, a performative and activist action aiming to preserve the E. Szyc Stadium in Poznań as a space for wild nature, 2019–... ; Pomnik niszczenia przyrody (Monument to the Destruction of Nature), created together with the Inicjatywa Dzikie Karpaty (Wild Carpathians Initiative), Powszechny Theatre and the Palace of Culture and Science (PKiN) in Warsaw, 2019. Participant, author, and curator of exhibitions, including: Chwasty i ludzie (Weeds and People), Zachęta Project Space, Warsaw 2020; Magiczne zaangażowanie (Magical Engagement), Arsenał Municipal Gallery, Poznań, 2020; Zoepolis.
