Janek Simon

(born 1977) Polish artist works in interactive art, video, and installation art as well as with objecs and happenings. Author of "Polish Year at Madagascar” (2006) wein cooperation with Atlas Sztuki in Łódź (2006). He participated in the residency program Headlands Artist in Residence in San Francisco and Gasworks in London (2007); receipient of the Deutsche Bank Foundation award "Views" (2007). In 2008 he co-founded (together with Kuba Barbaro and Janek Sowa) Spółdzielnia Goldex Poldex. his work is finds inspiration in computer games, Internet, film, popular culture. The main theme of this work is catastrophe, utopia, intersection between art and science. His works were presented at numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
